Saab, a trusted partner in the Middle East
In an exclusive interview with Milipol Qatar Daily, Heléne Bittmann, Middle East Managing Director at Saab, discusses the Swedish company’s strong presence in the region and shares the innovations Saab is showcasing at this year’s Milipol Qatar.
Saab is firmly rooted in the Middle East. Can you tell us more about your activities in the region and how Saab is contributing to Qatar’s defence and security sectors?
Saab has been a trusted partner in the Middle East for decades, working closely with governments, institutions and customers to deliver robust defence and security systems, serving their most pressing national defence priorities. In Qatar, our presence has been steadily growing since 2010. Contributing to building a strong, resilient, and safe society, in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, our in-country presence includes air traffic management solutions and airport support, as well as training and simulation equipment for military purposes.
At Milipol Qatar, what products and innovations is Saab showcasing?
Saab is featuring its world-class airborne early warning and control solution (AWE&C), GlobalEye, as well as our secure, mission-ready 5G/LTE communication system, DeployNet. We are also showcasing the advanced Giraffe 1X air defence radar, the r-TWR Deployable Digital Tower, and a host of air traffic management solutions.
Looking ahead, what are Saab’s future plans for growth and expansion in the Middle East, particularly in Qatar?
Saab has been solidifying its role as a trusted partner in defence and security in the region for decades. We are looking forward to expanding our footprint in Qatar, driven by the growing demand for our wide-ranging offering.
