Milipol Asia-Pacific and TechX Summit have come together to organise a joint event. The conference segment will focus on the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Homeland Security”

Science and technology applied to homeland security

Milipol Asia-Pacific, part of the Milipol network of leading international homeland security events, has joined forces for this year’s edition of the show with TechX Summit, the biennial conference organised by Singapore’s Home Team Science & Technology Agency (HTX), under the auspices of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Singapore) and the Ministry of the Interior (France), to focus on the intersection between science and technology as applied to safety and security.

“For 2024 we now have the exciting addition of the Tech X Summit which is a 3-day conference themed as Powering Innovation: A Safe and Secure Future. This is organised by HTX, our new show partner, and will set new standards in conference content and production,” said Mr Andrew Marriott, Managing Director of Milipol Asia-Pacific organiser, Comexposium.

Meeting of the minds

This landmark event will bring together top government officials, operational experts, industry leaders, and academia to discuss the latest solutions, strategies and challenges, share technological trends, and foster greater collaboration within the international homeland security community.

The conference, led by Milipol Asia-Pacific partner HTX, will largely focus on the theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as applied to homeland security, with keynote speeches and panel discussions that will cover the evolution and future of AI, and the role it has to play in public safety and national security.

The wide range of topics to be covered will include a strategic overview of AI and its use in homeland security; how to leverage industry expertise for AI deployment; the ethics of AI and balancing security and privacy, as well as the role of AI in specific homeland security operations such as securing borders, law enforcement, cybersecurity, and real-time crisis management.

To bring these subjects to life, the conference programme boasts a selection of prestigious international speakers, such as Dimitri Kusnezov, Under Secretary for Science and Technology at the US Department of Homeland Security; Diane J. Sabatino, Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner, Office of Field Operations at US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Sim Feng-Ji, Deputy Secretary, Smart Nation Digital Government, from the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office.

Connecting professionals across regions

Milipol Asia-Pacific and Techx Summit is set to connect homeland security technology professionals and their industrial partners across multiple regions, including Asia-Pacific, US, Europe, ASEAN, and Singapore, and will be useful for everyone from top government officials to industry leaders, academia and R&D experts, and homeland security operations professionals, enabling them to stay abreast of current trends.

At the forefront of science and tech

Working at the forefront of science and technology to empower Singapore’s frontline of security, HTX is a statutory board of Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs that integrates a diverse range of capabilities to innovate and deliver transformative and operationally ready solutions for homeland security.

TechX Summit is the biennial conference organized by HTX to bring together top minds from around the world to exchange ideas about science and technology that is focused on public safety and security.

The inaugural edition of TechX Summit, held in 2022, brought experts and thought leaders from around the world to share insights on leading science and technology trends that are transforming public safety and security and was attended by more than 3,000 participants.
