Linev Systems lifts the veil on ‘The Invisible Shield’: the future of X-ray contraband detection
Linev Systems is developing a dual-energy transmission X-ray imaging system designed to perform a complete anatomical analysis of the human body, including internal cavities. Intended for the detection of contraband concealed on or in the body, this technology is aimed at secure environments such as prisons, border checkpoints and detention centres.
Technology that sees the invisible
The Invisible Shield system uses dual-energy X-ray transmission imaging to provide a complete anatomical analysis of the human body, including internal cavities. This capability is essential for detecting concealed objects such as mobile phones, tools, weapons and even illegal substances that are often impossible to identify using conventional methods.
Particularly suitable for high-risk environments – such as prisons, border posts or detention centres – this device combines precision and speed. In less than ten seconds, it is capable of producing a clear and detailed image of an individual’s body, without compromising their physical integrity, thanks to a low dose of radiation that complies with international standards.
Enhanced security, optimised intervention
One of the major advantages of the system is its impact on the operational management of people flows. Thanks to accurate and non-intrusive detection, ‘The Invisible Shield’ reduces the need for manual searches, thus speeding up procedures while minimising tensions between security personnel and those being controlled. This gain in efficiency also allows for a better allocation of human resources, which can be redeployed to tasks with higher added value.
Linev Systems has also emphasised the software intelligence of its solution. Automatic image analysis and AI-assisted detection enable fast and reliable interpretation, limiting human error. The system is also designed to integrate easily with existing security protocols, with an intuitive and multilingual user interface.
An ethical vision of security
In an area as sensitive as human safety, technology must also respect strict ethical principles. Aware of this challenge, Linev Systems has designed ‘The Invisible Shield’ in accordance with international regulations on radiation exposure, including NCRP and IAEA standards. The system does not record or store the personal data of the scanned individual, thus ensuring respect for privacy while guaranteeing collective security.
By placing transparency and security at the heart of its approach, Linev Systems shows that it is possible to reconcile technological innovation and social responsibility.
