Rohde & Schwarz launches RAMON IQzoom to enhance electromagnetic spectrum analysis

The new RAMON IQzoom solution from Rohde & Schwarz enables armed forces to retrospectively explore recorded signals to improve spectrum analysis in multi-domain operations.

A retrospective approach to the electromagnetic spectrum

Rohde & Schwarz has introduced RAMON IQzoom, a new post-analysis software solution designed to enable retrospective exploration of electromagnetic signals. The tool offers the ability to examine recorded signals in detail, days or even weeks after they were collected. Users can target specific time periods or frequency ranges and access granular data from their interception systems.

The aim is to provide a better understanding of previously undetected activities. This feature is part of a broader effort to support electromagnetic operations (EMSO) by facilitating the identification of signals that are difficult to locate during initial analysis.

Integration into the RAMON architecture

RAMON IQzoom integrates seamlessly into the RAMON (Rohde & Schwarz Advanced Monitoring Network) software environment, which is already in place in several technical surveillance systems. This architecture allows smooth navigation through large amounts of recorded data, with sorting options by sensors, geographical areas, frequencies or time periods.

The software is designed to run on secure networks, while adapting to existing procedures and infrastructures. It can also be used on mobile platforms to meet the specific needs of field missions.

A tool designed for multi-domain operations

According to Rohde & Schwarz, this new solution aims to meet the growing demands of operations conducted in multi-domain environments. RAMON IQzoom is designed to support intelligence gathering and analysis in the land, air, sea, space and cyber domains.

Thomas Bohne, Vice President SIGINT/EW at Rohde & Schwarz, said in the press release that this solution represents ‘a significant step towards true spectrum dominance in multi-domain operations.’ The tool is intended to contribute to a better understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum and more informed decision-making.
