ASKION Laser Range Finder: From industrial automation to security monitoring
The ASKION Laser Range Finder is an eye-safe device equipped with 905 nm laser diodes, designed for a wide range of measurement tasks. This Laser Distance Measurement Module (DMM) combines technical precision with a favourable cost-benefit ratio, tailored to meet specific operational requirements including measuring frequency, pulse energy, and data interface options.
Technical specifications
Operating at a wavelength of 905 nm, the device can measure distances ranging from 20 to 3,000 metres with an accuracy within 0.5 metres. It is capable of detecting minimal signals, complying with class 1 and class 1M laser standards according to EN 60825-1:2015-07.
The measurement frequency capability varies, supporting less than 1 Hz for long-range measurements of several kilometers, and up to 10 Hz for detecting weakly reflective objects at distances of several hundred meters. Data management is facilitated through an UART interface, and the device operates within a voltage range of 1.9 to 5.2 VDC.
Application areas
The ASKION Laser Range Finder is engineered for adaptability across various industrial and security applications, offering customisation to align with specific user needs.
Key application areas include:
- Industrial automation for monitoring and positioning of facilities
- Sports optics and observation, providing precision in environmental monitoring
- Security technology for reliable surveillance and monitoring
- Distance measurement in geology and conveying engineering
- Position monitoring in rail, ship, and container traffic
