Exail provides a high-tech simulator for the Gendarmerie’s Centaure vehicle
Exail is exhibiting at Milipol Paris 2023, and in a stride towards modernising law enforcement training, the company has recently delivered a state-of-the-art driving simulator for the French Gendarmerie’s newly introduced Centaure, a Multi-Purpose Intervention Vehicle.
Exail has delivered an advanced driving simulator for the French Gendarmerie’s new Multi-Purpose Intervention Vehicle (VIGP) Centaure. Announced on October 17, 2023, this development signifies a substantial enhancement in the Gendarmerie’s training capabilities.
Equipped with three driving stations and an instructor station, it is specifically designed for comprehensive driver training. This aligns with the Gendarmerie Nationale’s objectives to improve vehicle mobility, manoeuvrability, and safety across diverse environments.
The introduction of the Centaure vehicles, which replace the older VBRG vehicles, necessitated a modern training tool that mirrors the new vehicle’s enhanced performance and integrates the latest on-board systems. Charles Le Bot, Head of the Simulation business line at Exail, highlights the simulator’s crucial role in familiarising crews with the advanced features of the Centaure: “Our technological solutions enable operational crews to master the driving and digital functions of the vehicle and its on-board systems.”
